Bronwyn Clarke Announces Candidacy for Parks Tacoma Commission, Position 3

TACOMA, WA – Bronwyn Clarke is excited to announce her candidacy for the Parks Tacoma Commission, Position 3. A dedicated advocate for equitable, community-driven, and sustainable public spaces, Bronwyn is running to ensure that Tacoma’s parks serve as places for gathering, recreation, and resilience for generations to come.

“Our parks and community centers are the heart of our relationships and key to Tacoma’s resilience against climate impacts,” said Clarke. “I’m running to ensure every Tacoma resident—no matter where they live—has access to green spaces to gather, get around, and get resources or relief when needed.”

Having recently gone through the appointment process, Bronwyn remains deeply committed to serving Tacoma. With a background in public innovation and designing social services, she brings both the expertise and bold vision needed to level up Tacoma’s approach to parks and public spaces.

As a Parks Tacoma Commissioner, Bronwyn will work to:

  • Ensure parks serve all communities by bringing innovative ideas to expand access, increasing public participation in decision-making, and prioritizing underserved neighborhoods for investments.

  • Reimagine parks and community centers as resource hubs with essential services like childcare and benefits navigation, intergenerational recreation for youth and seniors, and relief during extreme weather events

  • Build Tacoma’s climate-resilience by expanding tree canopies, supporting conservation, and working with government partners to build safe, shaded pathways
